Delene Lesperance is all about family, and in her journey she has learned some
valuable lessons about life and how to raise happy, motivated, confident, giving
children.
Delene was raised in London, Ontario by a single mom who worked 12 hour days,
six days a week. Obviously there was not a lot of family time. After quitting
high school she worked in factories and waitressed before finally realizing how
important an education was. When she met her husband-to-be, he motivated and
encouraged her to further her education so she became a nurse.
After completing her nursing Delene went to Midland, married and then
specialized in psychiatric nursing, which is a career path that has taught her
so much about people, life, and the importance of treasuring the little things.
She firmly believes that we don’t understand how privileged we are until we see
others without the little things we take for granted.
After the breakdown of her marriage, Delene found herself in the same situation
as her own mother; single, working 12 hour days and raising small children on
her own. Between feeding and putting her daughters to bed, there was precious
little time for anything else, and she was frustrated that she couldn't be the
Mom she wanted to be. She desperately wanted to be more available to help her
children navigate childhood; to introduce them to those all-important life
lessons and be able to filter other (not so positive) things.
When Delene met the love of her life, her fiancé Douglas, they decided that she
should become a stay-at-home Mom. With her newfound free time she also pursued
her own spiritual and personal development with a variety of healing courses,
including becoming a Reiki Master, Life Coach and a (Tibetan and Hot stone)
massage therapist.

As Delene found her own confidence and purpose, she realized that everyone is
full of endless possibilities. Unfortunately many people just don't know it, and
not everyone has access to coaching to learn insights about the fears & beliefs
that have held them back for so long. Delene maintains that we can all do
anything we want; it is just a matter of letting go of some of our childhood
perspectives, and realizing that each of us is perfect, whole and complete just
as we are.
It all started when Delene shared her homemade cards she used with her own kids
as tools to teach them about life with her friends who also had children. Delene
never expected her cards to resonate so profoundly with other children and
parents, but she soon found that she was being encouraged to produce more sets.
And so, Grins-Zen Bearette was born.
A turning point for Delene came when her young daughter drew a certificate
showing her own name, and that of her teacher, in an attempt to earn some
acknowledgement in class. Delene realized that, in these small ways, children
everywhere are begging for reassurance and approval all the time. That small act
led Delene to create a series of certificates for teachers & organizations to
use to acknowledge all children in all ways. Her children were her constant
allies in her creations, teaching each other about life and in building their
self-esteem and confidence.
Now, Delene is building an ever-increasing series of decks which she feels are
invaluable tools to help for parents / families everywhere create open
communication. In fact, the cards are even designed so that children can use
them on their own for guidance and support.
Delene has great plans for her company. In Grins-Zen Bearette, she has created a
lovable role model who she would like to turn into a household name; and she
feels great about the fact that the message is always educational, inspiring and
character building… and All-Ways Paws-itive!
Even though she is busy building her empire, Delene still loves to spend as much
time with her family as possible. They enjoy almost any activity that involves
being active and together, and of course Delene treats everything they do as a
great opportunity to teach her girls how special they are.
